Doug has been a SMITH director since 1987. He is currently Chairman of the Board and a Special Executive Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer. Doug has been with SMITH since 1974 and served as Chief Executive Officer, President and Chief Operating Officer from March 31, 1989 until December 31, 2008. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors since February 26, 1991.

Loren has been a SMITH director since 1987. He worked for SMITH from December 1984 until March 1989 as Chief Financial Officer. After rejoining the Company in 1992, and until 1994, he served as SMITH’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. From March 1994 until April 2006, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of M-I SWACO

Dod has been a SMITH director since 2004. He is currently the President of Sackett Partners Incorporated, a consulting company, and a member of corporate boards. Dod established Sackett Partners in 2000 upon retiring from a 27-year career in investment banking at The Chase Manhattan Bank (now JP Morgan Chase), where he was Managing Director, Group Executive of the global oil and gas group, and Lazard Freres & Co., which he joined in 1978.

Jim has been a SMITH director since 1990. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Frontier Oil Corporation, a position he has held since April 1999. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of Frontier from April 1992 until December 31, 2008 and President and Chief Operating Officer of Frontier from January 1987 to April 1992. He joined Frontier in February 1982 as Vice President of Finance and Administration.

Bob has been a SMITH director since 2005. He is currently the President of Kellco Investments, a private investment company, a position he has held since 2001. Before that, Bob served in several senior management roles including Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Noble Affiliates, Inc.

Rodolfo has been a SMITH director since 2008. He has been a member of the Board and the Chief Executive Officer of OGX Petroleo e Gas Participacoes S.A. since April 2008. From April 2008 to the present he served as Executive Officer of EBX. From May 2006 until April 2008, he served as a member of the Board, the Executive President and the head of Investor Relations of MMX - Mineracao e Metalicos S.A. and served as a member of the Board of four subsidiaries in the same group as MMX and OGX. Prior to joining MMX, Rodolfo served in various positions at Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) from 1980 until April 2006, most recently as Chief Executive Officer of BR Distribuidora, a subsidiary of Petrobras.

John has been a SMITH director since 2006. He is currently Chief Executive Officer, President and Chief Operating Officer of SMITH, a position he has held since January 1, 2009. He joined SMITH as Executive Vice President and President Smith Completions and Production in August 2008. From 1980 to March 2006, he served in a variety of positions at Schlumberger, much of which included responsibilities for businesses primarily focused outside of the United States, most recently as President - North and South America, Oilfield Services. He was a Schlumberger member of the M-I SWACO Management Committee from 1999 until 2004.

Duane has been a SMITH director since 2009. He currently serves as the President and CEO of Valiant Exploration LLC and as the Non-Executive Chairman of NFR Energy LLC, a position he has held since August 2009. He has served on the board of NFR Energy since June 2008. From April 2001 until December 2007, he served as the President and CEO of Dominion Exploration and Production and Executive Vice President of Dominion Resources, the parent company of Dominion E&P.

John has been a SMITH director since 2006. He is currently Chief Executive Officer, President and Chief Operating Officer of SMITH, a position he has held since January 1, 2009. Mr. Restrepo has twenty-four years of experience in the oilfield services sector and was most recently the Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President and Secretary of Seitel, a provider of seismic data to the North American oil and gas industry. From 1985 to 2005, he held various financial and operational positions at Schlumberger, including Regional Vice President and General Manager, Corporate Treasurer, and other senior financial executive and controller positions with international posts in Europe, South America and the Middle East. William has Bachelor degrees in Economics and Civil Engineering and an MBA from Cornell University.

Mr. Malcolm W. Anderson is Senior Vice President, Human Resources of Smith International, Inc. since December 2006. He wasVice President, Human Resources, May 2004 to November 2006; Vice President Human Resources of Hewlett-Packard Company, January 2001 to April 2004; Joined the Company in May 2004.

Mr. Richard E. Chandler, Jr., is Senior Vice President and Secretary of Smith International, Inc. since January 2006 and has been General Counsel of the company since August 2005; Senior Vice President — Administration, General Counsel and Secretary of M-I SWACO, January 2004 to July 2005; Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of M-I SWACO, December 1986 to December 2003; Joined predecessor to M-I SWACO in December 1986.

Mr. Peter J. Pintar is Vice President - Corporate Strategy and Development of Smith International, Inc. since September 2005; Various positions at DTE Energy Company, including Director, Corporate Development; Managing Director, Venture Capital Investments; and Director, Investor Relations, October 1997 to August 2005; Joined the Company in September 2005.

Mr. Lee A. Turner is Vice President - Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) of Smith International, Inc. since January 2009; Vice President QHSE of M-I SWACO, January 2005 to December 2008; Vice President HSE of Yukos EP, December 2003 to December 2004; Various positions at Schlumberger, September 1983 to November 2003; Joined M-I SWACO in January 2005.
