We are seeking to hire a qualified candidate to fill the position of Reliability Engineer in our Houston, TX location.

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Reliability Engineer. Key duties are as follows:

·         Responsible for evaluating and quantifying performance of various Smith Drilling & Evaluation product lines including BHA tools, impact tools, surface equipment, Borehole Enlargement tools, Wellbore Departure tools, Fishing & Remedial tools.

·         Provide performance verification techniques and root cause analysis for these down-hole tool failures and prototype development.

·         Provide technical support to Design, Research & Development, Manufacturing and Field Engineering groups.

Job Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering with prior experience as outlined below will be considered.

• 2 - 3 years experience in any of the following: design, manufacturing, field application or reliability analysis of downhole tools and surface equipment.
• Strong background in identifying product related issues and determining the root causes for failures and improving product reliability.
• Statistics and FEA knowledge is a plus
• Candidate should be an expert user of MS Office applications
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills required
