Coil tubing jetting is used to displace fluids from the well bore. As the fluids are displaced and the pressure exerted on the reservoir decreases, the hydrocarbon begins to flow.
Nitrogen is also used to displace potentially dangerous gases from pipelines and pressure vessels as it is inert and hence non-flammable.
In addition, nitrogen can be used for pressure/leak testing as part of the process of commissioning installations.
