Dear Smith Employees and Families,
It is my pleasure to announce that Smith International, Inc. and M-I SWACO will award the
Stanley Moore and Willard Johnson Scholarships to fourteen (14), 2010 graduating high school seniors.2010 Scholarship Awards
•
Two $10,000 scholarships distributed over four years• Six $5,000 scholarships distributed over four years
• Two $2,500 scholarships distributed over four years
• Four $1,000 scholarships distributed as a one-time payment
A Selection Committee, made up of representatives from each business unit, will choose the top fourteen scholarship applicants based on academics, completion of application and essay, future potential, community service, and other activities.
Eligibility
•
Student must be a 2010 graduating high school senior.• Student must have a parent or legal guardian who is a full-time active employee, based in the U.S. or expatriate status, of Smith International, Inc. (this includes legacy W-H employees), M-I SWACO and Wilson.
• Top fourteen scholarship recipients must submit a video by May 6th (more details to come) and be able to participate in a phone interview May 20th.
Scholarship Application Guidelines
•
Applicants must submit the completed scholarship application form, and• A copy of the most current official school transcript (through the end of the first semester of the 2009/2010 school year) is required.

Scholarship Timelines
•
Scholarship submittal deadline is Thursday March 4, 2010.• Top fourteen winners will be notified by telephone Thursday April 15, 2010.
• Applicants not selected will be notified by mail following the selection of the top fourteen candidates.
All applications must be submitted by Thursday, March 4, 2010 to be considered.
